The mission of Nancy's List is that no one will ever go through cancer alone. Your support and your belief in this mission will sustain our purpose to reach out to more and more families who are living with, through, and beyond cancer. Some donors have made a dedication for someone who has inspired them to fight cancer. Make your own dedication to someone who has inspired you. If you wish to make a contribution in honor of, or in memory of, a loved one, please indicate the person's name and anyone you wish to have Nancy notify of your contribution. Please include their mailing addresses. There are many ways to support Nancy's List to ensure our future. Some donors use the matching gifts programs available at their places of employment. You may consider taking advantage of tax savings from donations of stocks or real estate. Giving can be incorporated into estate and financial plannings. Or you can send a chunk of nickels and dimes ... everything counts. We have a lot to do.
Since the inception of Nancy’s List only a short 20 months ago, we have accomplished many important objectives. However, much work lies ahead and budgetary pressures pose the greatest challenge to the organization. Money drives mission and, regardless of how noble and important our mission is, our services and outreach require continual funding. Nancy’s List has largely been a “bootstrapped” effort, funded primarily by me along with generous contributions from family, friends, and other individuals who have been affected in some way by cancer. However, for Nancy’s List to be ultimately sustainable and, more importantly, for it to flourish and grow, we need to put the organization on the path to financial stability. We realize that this is not an easy task, especially in today’s troubled economic environment, and ramping up our fundraising efforts is therefore a top priority for me and the Board. Only with your help and support can we realistically ensure that Nancy’s List succeeds and takes its rightful place in the community to serve the needs of cancer survivors and their loved ones.
