Aurora Day Camp is Georgia’s only full-summer day camp for children with cancer and their siblings, ages 3 1/2 to 16, who are in active or follow-up treatment for cancer.
Aurora Day Camp brings the simple pleasures of childhood back to children struggling with cancer, changing months of loneliness and isolation into summers filled with sunshine, laughter and happiness. And because Aurora is a day camp, it does all this while allowing the children to continue their medical treatment and enjoy the comfort and safety of their own homes at night.
As a proud member of the Sunrise Association, our mission is to bring back the joys of childhood to children with cancer and their siblings through our Day Camp, Year-Round and In-Hospital Recreational Programs, all offered free of charge.
Unlike most oncology sleep-away camps that are offered for one to two weeks during the summer, Aurora Day Camp allows children to attend camp for as little as one day or for the entire seven week summer. Being a day camp allows for children who are in active treatment to continue with their home doctors, stay close to their family, and enjoy the comfort of sleeping in their own beds each night.
