Functional Medicine

A new model of medicine, Functional Medicine incorporates the best diagnostics and technologies from conventional medicine, with emerging tests and tools that help us identify the critical imbalances that are at the root of all illness. Our patients are our partners. We focus on patient-centered care, recognizing that each patient is different and requires a personalized treatment plan. Whether it be supplements, botanical medicines, prescription medications, therapeutic diets, detox programs, or intravenous nutritional therapies, we are committed to using what works for you.

Functional medicine looks to get to the root cause of dysfunction. Practitioners help people to promote health by creating a comprehensive wellness plan that incorporates food, nutrients, and lifestyle measures that are scientifically proven to reverse disease. This is especially true for cancer patients.

Functional medicine is a system of looking at each person individually through a truly personalized approach to health, discovering the root causes of a person’s ailments, instead of focusing on their symptoms. When the root causes are eliminated, the symptoms are eliminated as well. Because each person is a complex collection of unique genes, musculature, life circumstances, and habits, each one of us needs an individualized plan to help us achieve true wellness, not just the absence of our symptoms.

Through looking at aspects like sleep, daily movement, social support, physical tension, nutrition, exposure to toxins, hydration, and your personal medical history (among many other things), a functional practitioner helps you design the plan to greater wellness and vitality that feels the most exciting and effective for you. He creates a bio-individual plan for each patient that pulls from homeopathic, bioenergetic, botanical, and nutritional medicine.

Functional Medicine nutritionists have been uniquely trained in integrating the science of functional nutrition therapy, finding the right personalized eating plan that will keep you feeling your best. Oxygen–ozone therapy taps into the body’s innate ability to heal, activating an anti-inflammatory response and increasing detoxification. Prolozone therapy is very effective for pain relief in muscles and joints. While we strongly believe in the “food as medicine” approach to healing, we also understand the value of IV Nutritional Therapy. IV Therapy infusions filled with vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients can often be the turning point to spark a reversal of symptoms for those with chronic illness, or those looking to optimize their health and performance.
