Marin Integrative Medicine and Medical Acupuncture

News and Opinions from Marty Rossman, MD

With sincere wishes that we can hold
this flawed but wonderful
and historically unprecedented
democracy together,
I wish you a happy and healthy summer.

Summer in Chinese Medicine is the season of Fire,
the season of things coming to their full maturation,
the time of long days,
warm weather (unless you live in SF),
ripe stone fruit, fun, family and friends.
It is the season of connection
and the associated emotion is Joy –
may you have a good deal of it!

Lifelong Education
Life is short, and Art long;
the crisis fleeting;
experience perilous,
and decision difficult.
The physician must not only
be prepared to do what is right himself,
but also to make the patient,
the attendants, and externals cooperate.

Hippocrates, Aphorisms
Even though I have practiced medicine
for nearly 55 years now,
and acupuncture for 52 of those,
both professions require me
to stay current
by taking continuing education courses
in order to renew my licenses.
Both licenses require up-to-date
CPR and cardiac life support courses,
and on-going pain management education.

In addition,
this year I reported
Continuing Medical Education courses
in depression, anxiety, sleep, dementia, hypertension,
osteoarthritis, menopause, movement disorders,
diabetes and GLP-1 medications, opiates,
common eye disorders, fall prevention, suicide,
nutritional supplements, testosterone replacement,
weight loss, human trafficking,
vertigo, and kidney stones.

For renewing my acupuncture certification,
in addition,
I reported
practice ethics, addiction recovery,
sleep, meridian anatomy,
the 25 most important herbal medications,
CDC guidelines for acupuncture,
and treating anxiety with acupuncture.

We never know enough, but we keep on learning.

Schedule Update
My office in Mill Valley is a quiet and healing place, and a wonderful place in which to work.

The address is 147 Lomita Drive, Mill Valley, CA 94941 on the ground floor and I am there Mondays and Thursdays.

My phone # (415-925-8600) and email ([email protected]) are the same.
I only check phone messages once or twice a week so email is by far the best way to communicate with me.

The office is between the Mill Valley Post Office and the CVS store on E. Blithedale.
There is lots of parking around the back or you can park in the shopping center lot.

About Scheduling Appointments
If you are in active treatment (1-2 treatments per week), maintenance treatment (2-3 treatments per month) or a wellness schedule (tuneups every 4-12 weeks), try to make your appointments in advance, especially if your time is not flexible.

Appointments fill up fast. Getting the times you want is easier if you schedule early and appointments are easy to cancel with 24 hours notice.

To book or change an appointment, please login or create an account here:

If you have any trouble with this, email me at [email protected].

Thanks as always for your referrals.

I am honored to be on your health care team.
Let me know if I can be of help to you or someone you love.

With all best wishes for your good health and healing,

Marty Rossman, MD
