Deborah Simmons, Founder of Bossy Spa: Virtual Hugs for Caregivers

Taking care of a severely ill person exacts a huge toll on families and friends. Often the burden of unpaid care falls to a single individual and, in these situations, fatigue and burnout risk seriously depleting the caregiver’s physical and mental health.

At the Bossy Spa, caregivers receive a virtual hug every day in the form of a love note, posted online at www.BossySpa.com

Deborah Simmons is the writer behind the Bossy Spa. She started writing love notes to her sister, who is taking care of her terminally-ill husband. The site eventually attracted other caregivers, who find the simple thoughts and images helpful in maintaining their equilibrium through the emotional storms that come with dealing with a loved one’s serious illness.

There is no cost to access the site. You are free to drop in from time to time, or you may subscribe and get a daily love note sent to you by e-mail.

You are warmly invited to stop by the Bossy Spa for a virtual hug.
