I am a nationally registered and board-certified NY State licensed art therapist. After receiving my BFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers, I went on to receive my Masters’ degree from the Pratt Institute where I studied Art Therapy. Since then, I have strived to continually learn and grow as a therapist through continuing education in the field.
I am grateful to have had a great deal of clinical experiences providing art therapy to children, adolescents and adults of all ages in community agencies and as a consultant in the NYC public schools.
Art therapy can be a particularly effective modality for cancer patients of all ages as the creative process is both an empowering and healing tool to address loss, anger, grief, and many of the other overwhelming responses and realities of a cancer diagnosis. Art therapy improves emotional self-regulation, increases self-esteem, and can support you in processing your diagnosis and related challenges. It can be relaxing, pleasurable, and fun.
In our work together, I support you in reaching your goals, whether to deal with your stressors and transitions, or to work through loss, grief and trauma, to improve relationships, and to live your life more fully and authentically in the face of cancer.
My clients have expressed that they feel satisfaction in our work because of the safety I create, the feeling of being heard, seen, and understood, and the support I have provided them in discovering new tools and a connection to their inner resources.
