Helayne Waldman ED.D., M.S., CNE, Holistic Health Educator, Author, Nutritional Support for those living with Breast Cancer

Dr. Helayne Waldman, ED.D., M.S., CNE, is a holistic health educator who specializes in providing nutritional support for those with breast cancer.

Helayne received her doctorate from the University of San Francisco, her Master’s Degree from the University of Albany, and her certificate in holistic nutrition (750 hours of study) at Bauman College of Holistic Nutrition.

She has spent the past seven years teaching her clients, her students, and the general public about the importance of healthy eating with passion and flair, and recently completed (with Dr. Ed Bauman) the long-awaited Whole Food Guide for Breast Cancer Survivors, a guide to living well before and after a cancer diagnosis. This is an integrative whole foods guide to rebuilding health after surviving breast cancer and reducing the chance of breast cancer recurrence. This guide helps readers get the nutrition they need in order to keep breast cancer at bay, with specific guidance for managing hormone levels with food. It also explains how nutritional deficiencies, environmental factors, blood sugar, inflammation levels and GI health all affect cancer’s ability to attack the body. Using holistic health and nutrition leader Edward Bauman’s Eating for Health model, readers learn to eat for health in order to starve cancer and enjoy stronger, healthier bodies.

Through her project, Turning-the-Tables, practitioners specialize in healthy aging and in supporting women who are at high risk of breast cancer occurrence or recurrence. They provide one-on-one counseling sessions, group consultations, office visits and nutritional house calls to help you take better charge of your health through good nutrition. Specifically, they can help with

  • Weight and blood sugar management
  • Bone health
  • Digestive health
  • Inflammatory concerns
  • Active nutritional defense against cancer
  • Nutritional support during cancer treatments and nutritional follow-up post-treatment

Helayne is a low-cost resource for our cancer community.
