
While a diagnosis may apply to more than one person, each patient has his or her own story. Symptoms may manifest differently, environmental factors play a part, and each person responds in his or her own way.
Dr. Jennifer Schmitt hears your story, gathers information, does physical exams and labs, and builds a health healing relationship with you. She uses clinical nutrition, lifestyle counseling, anthroposophic medicines and therapies, biodynamic craniosacral therapy, homeopathy, and herbal medicine and supplements to help treat the whole person. She takes the time to know her patients and she tailors an individualized treatment plan to support your health goals. Dr. Jennifer Schmitt is a board-licensed Naturopathic Doctor. She has an integrative pediatric and family practice in the East Bay of Northern California.
She studied pre-med at St. Edward’s University in Austin and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in biology from Marymount Manhattan College in New York. Dr. Schmitt received her Doctorate in naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle. Her medical school specialty training included family medicine, normal maternity, advanced pediatrics, diabetes and cardiovascular care. She also trained in and specializes in Naturopathic Oncology supportive treatment with Mistletoe Therapy.
Dr. Schmitt has completed the five-year post-graduate training in Anthroposophic medicine and is certified as an Anthroposophic Naturopathic Doctor.
She works in Waldorf schools with classroom observation, parent education, and with the school’s faculty to have a greater understanding of the development of the child. Dr. Schmitt lectures and teaches at Waldorf schools and Waldorf teacher trainings in the United States.
She is on the Board of the Society for Physicians of Anthroposophic Naturopathy (SPAN) and is on the faculty of the Bay Area Center for Waldorf Teacher Training (BACWTT), Sound Circle Waldorf Teacher Training, and International Physicians Medical Training in Anthroposophic Medicne (IPMT). Dr. Schmitt is also a member of the California Naturopathic Doctors Association, as well as a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians, and Pediatric Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
