Rebecca was born in California and she has lived in Austin for almost a decade. She received her bachelor’s degree from UCLA and then went to school for her master’s degree in professional counseling at Texas State University – San Marcos. She specializes in marriage and family therapy, learning how to help people in all of life’s transitions. She has experience working with families dealing with chronic illness, adolescents with anxiety surrounding school and/or their social lives, and couples who have lost intimacy. She is able to incorporate concepts such as Gottman therapy, sexual history interviewing, mindfulness and other well-supported techniques to form a unique therapy for each client and family. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate.
She has worked for the American Cancer Society for over 5 years and knows about every aspect of a cancer patient’s journey. From the moment of diagnosis and through the treatment side effects and anxiety around the success of treatment, she provides support to patients and caregivers/family members.
