Hypnosis is really nothing more than a form of highly focused attention,
which can be used to help people control how they respond to the stress of having cancer
and to some of the physical consequences of the disease.

Going through cancer and its treatment can be a scary, confusing, lonely and exhausting process – that is why we treat you as a whole and not just the cancer you have. Our mission is to help patients better manage the physical and emotional pain associated with cancer, to reduce negative side effects of treatments, and to approach their therapy with bodies receptive to healing signals.
We know cancer patients and their families experience fear, anxiety, and isolation. They need on-going care that, in addition to addressing the physical illness, helps meet their mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. This gives them confidence that their whole being is addressed and valued.
Liza Boubari, founder of HealWithin, has worked with cancer patients as individuals and in group therapy sessions. Good Samaritan Hospital, Glendale Memorial, and now the LA Cancer Network itself, refer patients to her. Using Mind-Body Healing, HealWithin has found success in calming cancer patients, helping them overcome the stress and anxiety of treatments, and relaxing their bodies to receive healing signals.
Through our hypnotherapy sessions, you will gently and gradually release the fears and symptoms and, even more important, regain your confidence, energy, and peace back in your life! Hypnotherapy is a guide that leads you from your conscious state into a state of calm relaxation. The relaxed state allows you to develop a new perspective on your condition. Positive feelings ensue and you are better able to communicate with your body through the subconscious mind. Instead of working through an analytical mode of thought, your mind shifts to a synthetic mode of thinking. This allows greater communication between emotion, sensations and the body. In turn, you have greater control of your body on physical and psychological levels.
Hypnosis can do much more as an adjunct to medical treatment. Hypnosis can be used to
- Direct both the cells of the immune system and the agents of chemotherapy to go after the cancer with greater strength.
- Rebuild the immune system, and to counter the other effects of chemo, like anemia, nausea, hair loss, etc.
- Increase the success and reduce the recovery time from surgery.
Hypnotherapy is an enhanced therapy that can be used in conjunction with c cancer therapies such as surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. Hypnotherapy is simply the use of hypnosis in a therapeutic context and is no different than trance state or day dreaming. Hypnosis can help people with cancer live high-quality lives at every stage of their illness and receive healing in all that they do. Hypnotherapy is not a substitute for medical care or attention. However, there is no doubt that the mind and body are interconnected. When we control our minds, we can affect the way our bodies perceive its disease.
Liza is an extremely effective hypnotherapist as she resources her therapeutic training and natural inclination to empower guide her clients through difficult experiences. Although she specializes in women’s wellness, Liza works with all levels of humanity, making each session unique and powerful. She delivers clear communication, sensitive and compassionate insights, and is skillfully strategic.
