A Radical Remission is a cancer remission that occurs either without conventional medical treatment, after conventional treatment has failed to work, or when conventional and complementary methods are used in conjunction to overcome a dire prognosis.
We believe that, given enough documented cases to research, the causes of Radical Remission can be uncovered.
That is why we created this website – to build a database of medical cases that will help us to understand why some people beat cancer against all odds.
OUR MISSION
Create awareness through education, empowerment through coaching, and support through community for anyone, anywhere, at any point on their wellness journey.
We come together to help people find community, courage, and support for their healing journey.
Kelly A. Turner, PhD.
I am a researcher, writer, and psychotherapist who specializes in integrative oncology. For over 15 years, I have shared my discoveries about these 10 healing factors common among Radical Remission® survivors with workshop participants and coaching clients from around the world.
1. Radically changing your diet – Prioritizing whole, plant-based foods and eliminating processed foods, sugar, and toxins can reduce inflammation and support immune function.
2. Taking control of your health/Empowering yourself – Becoming an empowered participant in your health journey encourages informed decision-making and builds trust in one’s chosen healing path.
3. Following your intuition – Intuition can be a subtle but powerful guide in making health-related decisions, particularly when faced with multiple treatment options.
4. Using herbs and supplements – Many people turn to natural compounds to help support the body’s healing systems, reduce side effects, and improve overall vitality.
5. Releasing suppressed emotions – Emotional suppression has been linked to chronic stress and disease. Consciously working through grief, anger, or trauma may lift a hidden burden on the body.
6. Increasing positive emotions – Cultivating joy, gratitude, and laughter is not just emotionally enriching. It can directly influence immune function and recovery outcomes.
7. Embracing social support – A strong sense of community has been shown to increase survival rates and enhance quality of life during and after cancer treatment.
8. Deepening your spiritual connection – Regardless of religious beliefs, spiritual practices often offer comfort, purpose, and a sense of interconnectedness that fosters resilience.
9. Having strong reasons for living – A clear sense of purpose can energize a healing journey and inspire a renewed commitment to life.
10. Engaging in physical activity – Movement stimulates the lymphatic system, boosts mood, and reduces the risk of many chronic conditions, including cancer recurrence.
The Radical Remission factors
represent an integrative and universally accessible toolkit
for all cancer survivors.
These practices help cultivate a biological environment
that is less conducive to cancer growth
by supporting immune function,
reducing inflammation,
and fostering emotional and psychological well-being.
As with any approach,
the integration of these lifestyle changes
should be personalized and ideally practiced
in collaboration with medical professionals.
However, the powerful stories behind Radical Remission
and growing scientific support for mind-body medicine
suggest that these ten factors
can complement conventional strategies
and potentially help lower the risk of recurrence
— not just in colorectal cancer,
but across a wide spectrum of diagnoses.

Ronnie Campbell

At 57, Ronnie was living a healthy, active life as a health coach, marathon runner, and triathlete. She had always taken great care of her health and never imagined that cancer would be part of her story — until June of 2018.
After a routine colonoscopy, Ronnie was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that had spread to her liver, lungs, peritoneum, and lymph nodes.
Faced with this grim prognosis, she chose to take an active role in her treatment. Ronnie opted for traditional chemotherapy but also incorporated naturopathic treatments into her regimen. Ronnie believed this combination would help support her body during the chemotherapy and aid in her healing. The journey wasn’t easy, but the balance of conventional medicine and natural therapies helped her to stay strong and cope with the challenges she faced.
Looking back, Ronnie realizes that her success wasn’t just the result of traditional treatments or naturopathic therapies — it was her mindset, resilience, and refusal to give up. Cancer tried to take her life, but instead, it gave her a new one … one filled with gratitude, strength, and a deeper understanding of what truly matters.

Charlene Fursland is a determined single mom of three who has overcome cancer twice.
First diagnosed in 2014 with stage 2 breast cancer, she faced an even greater challenge in 2019 when it returned as metastatic breast cancer. Refusing to accept a hopeless prognosis, she trusted her deep intuition, knowing that if she kept following the voice of wisdom within, it would lead her to healing.
Leaving no stone unturned, she explored every possible path beyond conventional treatment, turning to alternative methods and fully healing in 2020.
Throughout her journey, she listened relentlessly to Radical Remission, allowing its stories of hope and healing to hold her in a space of self-belief and possibility.
But her healing didn’t stop there. She has continued on this path, healing the chronic pain she had carried since she was three years old.
Art has been a powerful tool in her journey, helping her process deep inner child work and uncover layers of healing she never thought possible.
Now, she makes it her life’s work to help others realize their own innate healing abilities, guiding them to trust their bodies, their intuition, and their power to heal.

Gratitude
In the short time that we have been Co-Directors of the Radical Remission Project, we have come upon so many reasons to be grateful.
Even before becoming Co-Directors, we were grateful for the research that Dr. Turner conducted and for the opportunity to become Certified Radical Remission Health Coaches. Today, we are grateful for being able to amplify the mission of the Radical Remission Project and share its 10 healing factors.
You might feel like gratitude is over-hyped, but we can assure you that there is good reason for all the buzz. According to one study from Harvard,
Across positive psychology research,
gratitude is strongly and consistently
associated with greater happiness.
This is great news since we are sure everyone would vote for greater happiness.
No matter where our mental and emotional health is at any moment, gratitude can help us see the good in our lives. Gratitude helps us connect with something bigger than ourselves, such as nature or a higher power.
When we feel grateful, we are feeling a positive emotion and, as you know from Dr. Turner’s first book Radical Remission,
Positive emotions are like rocket fuel
for the immune system.
Positive emotions lead to an outpouring in our bloodstreams of happy hormones that in turn boost our immune systems.
If you haven’t already established a gratitude practice of some kind, we strongly encourage you to start today. You can simply write down 3 things you are grateful for in a notebook or journal, use a daily planner, or write your 3 gratitudes on slips of paper and drop them in a mason jar on your kitchen counter.
Find a method that works for you. You will be happy that you did!
