I am an ovarian cancer survivor and I am working toward becoming a cancer survivorship coach.
In my experience, patient education throughout the process was terrible. I learned the most from talking with others like me. Now I’m offering survivorship support to anyone who needs it.
Talking with people about how to rejoin life after treatment … what life will look like going forward, choosing to go back to work or not, incorporating exercise and nutrition back into their lives to help with muscle wasting and weight loss or gain, and pretty much anything else a person wishes to discuss regarding cancer.
Right now, I’m talking with people online or in person completely free of charge while I gain experience. I NEVER ask for anything shady like signing papers, credit card info, etc. People can share as little or as much of their health information as they choose. They don’t even have to give me their real names if they don’t want to.
This is about me offering peer coaching because I’ve been there. No one understands what it’s like to have cancer unless you’ve actually had cancer.
