As a clinical sexologist, I support clients in living their sexuality, intimacy (into-me-you-see), and relationships authentically, whatever that may look like. A Clinical Sexologist is a trained professional who offers sex counseling to help people understand and accept themselves as sexual beings and meet their sexual goals.
Though I am a psychosexual specialist and not specifically a cancer specialist, I have had many people in my life, personally and professionally, the past 15 years who have had cancer. I have been privy to some of the more personal and disruptive aspects of the illness and the treatments.
I always tell people, cancer or not: “You have to work with what you’ve got”. Your sexual and sensual life doesn’t have to be any particular way. There are no standards you have to meet. Who cares what is ‘normal’?! What matters is that it works for you.
I will help you navigate the ‘mechanical’ difficulties that arise, help you explore who you are erotically during this period, and reconnect with your beloved if cancer has caused distance to set in.
