Melanie Stachelski is a therapist at Colorado Cancer Counseling in Arvada, Colorado and specializes in supporting people through every stage of a cancer diagnosis. Melanie is passionate about this work because she is a cancer survivor herself. Melanie was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in 2009 and received a successful Stem Cell Transplant in 2010.
As a cancer patient going through treatments for Leukemia, Melanie wanted to know how she could not only survive, but how she could THRIVE. Now, as a cancer counselor, Melanie feels that it is her passion and privilege to combine all of the training, education, and insight she has gathered over the past decade with the life-changing experience of her own cancer diagnosis in order to give other cancer survivors the tools, information, hope, and inspiration to continue their journey towards health and well-being.
Melanie provides cancer counseling for individuals with cancer (newly diagnosed, active treatment, and survivorship), as well as caregivers, family members, and loved ones. She is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy, and also offers Cancer Skills classes and cancer support groups.
