Agustin (Gus) Castellanos M.D., Mindfulness Based Program Teacher, Counseling and Health and Wellness Coaching

Gus Castellanos MD is a retired Neurologist and Sleep Medicine Specialist. He teaches mindfulness-based programs throughout South Florida.

Gus graduated from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 1980 and completed anInternal Medicine Internship at Emory University School of Medicine and Neurology Residency at Georgetown University School of Medicine. He also completed a 2-year Neuro-oncology Fellowship and was an assistant professor of Neurology at MD Anderson Cancer Center before relocating to Palm Beach County to establish his Neurology, Neuro-oncology, and Sleep Medicine practice.

Dr. Castellanos has been a mindfulness practitioner since 1998 and a teacher of mindfulness since 2009. He is certified to teach MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) by the University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society. He trained with, and is a contributor to, the University of Miami Neuroscience (Jha) Lab’s mindfulness research program.

He currently teaches mindfulness programs, workshops, and lectures at a variety of facilities throughout South Florida, including the Sari Center for Integrative Cancer Care in West Palm Beach, where he has been leading mindfulness sessions for cancer patients, survivors and their families (as well as the general community) since 2010. He also teaches at the University of Miami’s Osher Center for Integrative Medicine, UMindfulness, Mindful Kids Miami, FIU College of Medicine, Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County, GEN2050 summer camp for under-resourced teens and for Florida State Judges at their Annual College of Advanced Judicial Studies conference.

Gus’ offerings are available for those new to mindfulness as well as more experienced practitioners who want to deepen their practice. All are welcome. Along with 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) courses, Gus offers a variety of workshops, classes, lectures, conferences and one-on-one coaching sessions. These are all designed to improve your health, reduce stress, pain and suffering, as well as enhance productivity, creativity and the quality of your life. The classes will both introduce and  deepen the practices of Mindfulness, Compassion and Sanity.

Gus is available for one-on-one mindfulness training and coaching sessions in person or by Skype or Zoom.
