yoga
I am a Yoga Alliance 500 RYT ™, an y4c-Yoga4Cancer Trained Teacher, a Certified Relax and Renew™ Trainer and have been personally practicing yoga since 1996.
I chose this career because I saw how yoga transformed my life and I want to help others experience its benefits. Yoga philosophy, some of which I share in my classes, has helped me move past some of my self-imposed fear and limitations.
I have studied many different styles including Iyengar, Ashtanga, and Anusara and am currently studying for my Yoga Therapy certification from Loyola Marymount University. Embracing this blend of styles allows me to create unique classes, pulling from a spectrum of asana (poses), pranayama (breath work), and relevant Eastern philosophies. I design my classes to address the real-world needs of the students, moving them steadily toward their personal goals at a sustainable pace.
I am passionate about teaching yoga to cancer patients and survivors, as well as anyone dealing with stress, giving them tools to relax their nervous system and allow the body to heal.
I currently teach y4c classes to cancer patients and survivors at The Roy and Patricia Disney Cancer Center in Burbank, CA and Adventist Health Cancer Center in Glendale, CA.
