Camp CoHoLo’s mission is to serve children between the ages of 6 and 17 who are impacted by cancer or blood disorders. Campers include children undergoing therapy and those who have completed treatment.
CoHoLo Camp will be held f at Camp Fontanelle north of Omaha, Nebraska. Camp Fonanelle is home to a brand new air conditioned lodge with multiple bunk bed style rooms. Camp Fontanelle offers many new and exciting things as well including a pool with handicap access on site!
Campers include children undergoing therapy for cancer or blood disorders, and those who have completed treatment. Children in remission share the camp with newly diagnosed children. Regardless of the age of diagnosis, they all share a common bond. Approximately half of the children who attend Camp CoHoLo receive medication for their condition. The volunteer staff at Camp CoHoLo includes pediatric hematology/oncology physicians and nurses from the Nebraska Medical Center and Children’s Hospital and Medical Center who maintain strict medication schedules and monitor the health of all campers.
This year we will be adding a virtual camp, allowing campers who are not able to attend camp due to their health will still be able to login from their home or hospital room!
Camp CoHoLo empowers children with cancer and blood disorders to just be themselves while enjoying time at summer camp. CoHoLo is an acronym for Courage, Hope and Love, and that’s exactly what our passionate medical staff and counselors provide!

We have many activities planned each day. We get started right away with pictures and making “warm fuzzies” (mailboxes to build friendships). Every year we try to include a few new activities that will integrate our theme for the year with the same old favorites that make our children want to come back year after year. Our daily activities depend on the weather and the health of our campers, so rain or heat may cut our outdoor activities short but “we smile and we are flexible” to plan additional activities to keep our campers having a fun-filled experience.
Here are some activities that are a tradition at camp: swimming, water slides, crafts, “warm fuzzies”, camp songs, frisbee golf, nature hikes, sitting volleyball/4-H Square, water games, zip line, high-wire adventure, Trust course, boat making, scavenger hunts, carnival games, a kid-focused dance with DJ music.
