Camp Rapahope is a non-profit organization that offers FREE FUN for children who have or have had a cancer diagnosis and their families. We offer programs and events throughout the year that aim to bring fun to the childhood cancer journey. Our week-long summer camp is for kids 7 – 17.
Camp Week
Our largest event of the year, boys and girls ages arrive for a full week of FUN with arts and crafts, horseback riding, high ropes course, swimming, boating, fishing, so much more, and, of course, Bacon! We strive to provide a normal camping experience for our campers and remind everyone that kids deserve to be kids.
Winter Weekend
Winter Weekend takes place at our sister camp, Camp Ta-Kum-Ta, located in South Hero, Vermont. Starting in 2013, two graduating campers and two counselors fly north to experience a weekend in the snowy mountains of Vermont with fun activities like snowshoeing, games, ice skating, and broom-ball … a local favorite.
Sibling Weekend
Our weekend dedicated just to sibling of children with cancer. Our campers get a glimpse of what Camp Week is like for their brother or sister while having fun and trying new games and activities. Siblings ages 7 – 13 are invited to attend.
Deep Sea Fishing Trip
Setting out from Zeke’s Landing in Orange Beach, Alabama, join Camp as we spend the day out on the Gulf of Mexico fishing and soaking up the sun. Kids ages 9 – 18 who have or have had a cancer diagnosis are invited to come along. Transportation to and from Zeke’s Landing is provided free of charge.
Teen Weekend
An entirely new take on Camp, Teen Weekend is offered only to campers 15 – 18 who have or have had a cancer diagnosis. The weekend is a time to chill and catch up with camp friends, old and new.
Family Fun Day
A day filled with all of the fun of a Camp Program but made for the entire family. Bring the whole gang for an afternoon of music, crafts, food, games, and, of course, FUN! All campers future, current, and past are invited along with parents, guardians, and siblings.
Most campers come from communities along the central Gulf Coast … from the Florida panhandle to the Louisiana Texas border, but any child with cancer may attend.
