At Camp Good Days, participants have the opportunity to regain some of what cancer has taken away from them. While a vast majority of our children reside in New York, Camp Good Days has no geographical boundaries and accepts children from all 50 states and all over the world. No child with cancer is ever turned away from Camp Good Days.Camp Good Days provides services for children with cancer, children who have a parent or sibling with cancer, and children who have lost a parent or sibling to cancer. We also offer programs for women and men who have or have had cancer. All of the programs and services are offered free of charge for the participants.
Summer Camp on Keuka Lake
Our Recreational Facility is home to nine residential cabins, several activity huts, a waterfront beach, pool, dining hall, sports field, and more. Our fully equipped infirmary is ready to meet the medical needs of our Campers – from bumps and bruises to chemotherapy.
Our overnight program allows for kids dealing with cancer, ages 8-17, to be surrounded by others who are experiencing similar challenges, allowing them the opportunity to connect with others who understand their unique circumstances. Campers’ days are filled with opportunities to challenge themselves, make friends and try new things.
For our Junior Campers (ages 4-7), we offer a day camp hosted by our three regional offices (Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse). Jr. Campers will spend their week meeting new friends while exploring fun local attractions, such as amusement parks and children’s museums.
Camp Good Days also provides year-round programs and services. Based out of our three regional offices (Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse, NY), “Campers” can enjoy the magic of Camp Good Days year-round. Campers can expect activities such as snow tubing, pumpkin carving, bowling, fishing, theater, concerts, sporting events and more. While most events are just for the Campers ages 4-17 (that means some respite time for parents!), occasionally our programs are open for the entire family. Our dedicated staff and team of experienced and silly volunteer Camp Counselors make sure every Camper feels welcome and included.
The Adult Oncology Programs at Camp Good Days & Special Times foster support among men and women who are dealing with cancer. Each program addresses the risks, fears, and barriers adults face day-to-day during and after diagnosis and treatment. Cancer does not just affect the person diagnosed, but those around them as well, which is why some of the programs also include a significant other/friend component, where attendees can bring someone close to them to experience the healing of Camp Good Days together.
As an adult diagnosed with cancer, you are often facing the challenge of dealing with your own health while also trying to balance your every-day life while also leading a life as a professional. You might feel isolated and stressed. That is where Camp Good Days can help. Through our year-round programs and activities, and our weekend retreats, you have the opportunity to be around others experiencing exactly what you are going through. It is a time to share stories, ask for advice, make new friends, take time to relax by swimming in our pool, kayak on Keuka Lake, have a massage, create arts & crafts, fish, sing songs around a campfire, and just take time for you.
You do not have to go through a cancer diagnosis, treatment or remission alone. Once you become part of the Camp Good Days family, you will always have our staff as a resource, the friends you make as an ongoing support system, and our facility as your home away from home.
Camp Good Days is a celebration of life with those who appreciate it the most … a place where courage knows no boundaries.
