Welcome to families that are new to Camp Horizon. Camp has been around for 40 plus years creating exciting moments and lasting memories for children battling cancer and their siblings. We invite your campers to come have one of the most fun weeks of their lives with us. We have 2 weeks for camp. This year the first week is only for the siblings. The second week is for the oncology patients only. Each week is tailored to the specific group, so please choose the correct week when applying.
We are so excited that your camper has decided to come spend a week with us this summer.
Camp Horizon is a unique children’s oncology camp. Camp Horizon not only provides a summer camp get-away for patients that have, or are in the process of battling, cancer, but also a week of camp for their Special and Important Brothers and Sisters (SIBS).
Camp Horizon was originally founded in 1983 by the American Cancer Society. While originally designed to serve the special needs of current and former childhood cancer patients, Camp Horizon was expanded in 1997 to offer SIBS Camp for Special and Important Brothers and Sisters.
I have so many memories
from going to Camp Horizon.
I have lost so many friends
but have also made so many friends
from being at Camp.
I miss camp life so much.
Hopefully, I will be able
to make it next summer.
Children currently receiving cancer treatment are welcome at Camp Horizon. They can visit the camp’s Club Med to receive their medication under the supervision of doctors and nurses who volunteer their time to provide this service. Medical staff, including pediatric oncologists and oncology nurses, are on duty 24 hours a day. Camp Horizon is available at no cost to campers and their families thanks to the generous support of sponsors and donors to Beyond the Horizon Corporation.
Camp Horizon is held each summer at Bethany Hills Campground in Kingston Springs, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville.
