I believe there is a large, unmet professional psychological need for cancer patients, their caregivers, and anyone facing serious illness. I have a full-time practice providing Psycho-oncology therapy support to patients, caregivers and families.
Emotional support and strength are integral parts of the cancer treatment and recovery process – treating the mind/body/spirit – from the first day of diagnosis.
I am intensely trained in integrative oncology care as well as traditional mental health support. I believe we are all destined to live our greatest life and there is much we can do to ensure that.
When I’m not providing individual care, I speak publicly sharing my insight, beliefs, and philosophy. I also volunteer much of my efforts to many oncology-related organizations and am a member of professional organizations including American Psychosocial Oncology Society, Society for Integrative Oncology and American Counseling Association.
I believe life after cancer is all about living … indeed …
Life after ANYTHING is all about living.
Life is not the way it’s supposed to be.
It’s the way it is.
The way you deal with it is what makes the difference.
~ Virginia Satir
The journey of life is filled with so many “bumps in the road” — illness, loss, family adjustments, physical changes. It can leave you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed and out of balance, making it increasingly difficult to function in daily life. It is important to take the time to recognize and heal the emotional change that accompanies life’s unexpected twists and turns. I look forward to walking this path with you…it is an honor.
The separation of psychology from biology is purely artificial
because the human psyche lives in indissoluble union with the body.
~ Carl Jung
Our emotional health greatly effects our physical health. When life’s challenges leave you feeling anxious, depressed … stuck, I can help you regain balance by treating the emotional components of life’s struggles.
If you care enough for a result, you will most certainly attain it.
~ William James
You don’t have to just “live with it”. I have many tools that help you gain a better understanding of where you are on your journey and how you can heal and move forward to become the best YOU.
I office at Nebraska Cancer Specialists in Omaha but will see cancer patients from any practice. I accept most insurances.
