I am a clinical psychologist in private practice and an author. I am based in metropolitan New York City and Connecticut.
For the past two decades, I have supported those affected by cancer. Whether it be contributing to research into the psychosocial needs and concerns of those facing cancer or as a direct service provider, I have learned a lot and have been inspired by many. I have helped many reflect on how their experiences have shaped their outlook. Over time, I began to suggest journaling as an activity that people could do independently to help process some of their experiences and emotions. One year ago, I created a workshop series to help people diagnosed with cancer cultivate this skill. The series has been well-received and highly appreciated and attendees feel they gained a valuable skill which they continue to use well after the workshop ends.
I now proudly introduce Reflections: A Journal Companion for the Cancer Journey. It is a companion in the form of a spiral-bound notebook. There are sections to record side effects, dates and types of treatments, useful resources and recommendations, questions for medical professionals, along with sections for gratitude journaling and dozens of journal prompts designed to inspire growth and identify insights. This link will enable you to look inside.
I had actually published it the week in March that everything was changing very rapidly and shutting down. I decided to hold out on officially launching the book until now. Speaking of timing … using this journal now can certainly be a meaningful quarantine activity for cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers. I invite you to share this resource with individuals who may appreciate a copy. If you would like to order a larger quantity of journals, you can purchase directly from me for a reduced rate.
I am donating 20% of proceeds directly to support psychosocial services for those affected by cancer.
I specialize in helping clients manage anxiety, depression, adjustment to medical and health-related challenges and life transitions. I guide clients in strengthening coping and resilience as they face current and future challenges. My approach is individualized to each client’s unique needs, strengths, and experiences, yet is firmly rooted in evidence-based principles.
My office is located in Fairfield County, Connecticut. My practice is affiliated with Yale New Haven Health’s Smilow Cancer Care Hospital.
I provide virtual therapy throughout Connecticut and New York via a HIPAA-compliant video tele-health platform. This option eliminates geographic or transportation challenges and offers greater schedule flexibility.
In addition to my clinical practice, I consult with organizations and businesses. I have authored two books and I write about psychology-focused topics for a number of national publications.
