I experienced aggressive breast cancer in 2006-7 and it changed my life for the better. I was introduced to Healing Touch during my course of treatments and it helped me significantly reduce chemo and other drug side effects. I am completely healthy and was dismissed from cancer care a number of years ago.
After my illness, I left my career as a special education teacher and became a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner in 2010. I have been in private practice ever since. I added other modalities and coursework and developed my own integrative approach. My work is a combination of intuitive and clinical energy healing, education and mentoring.
Currently I offer phone sessions to anyone anywhere. When it is safe, I plan to maintain my distance healing practice and also provide some in-person sessions in my healing studio in Iowa City.
A good number of my clients have had cancer and I have helped them on their journeys. More recently I have had a number of clients with Covid-19, both lighter cases and those who developed ‘long-hauler’s syndrome’.
All of my sessions, which are done over the phone, include a relaxing time of vibrational body work, along with the education and mentoring. The objective of the education and mentoring is for clients to learn how to manage their own energies for their best health and life. For clients receiving chemo or radiation, we always address the physical concerns, such as pain management or clearing toxic energy debris, alongside holistic and spiritual work.
I am a certified energy healer through Healing Beyond Borders. Healing Touch is often described as the Gold Standard of complementary energy medicine modalities. Healing Touch was developed by nurses in the 1980s to support hospital patients with significant health issues. A central tenet of our modality is to return clients to a grounded state and to homeostasis for their best healing outcomes. For safety, Healing Touch has specific protocols in working with people who are receiving cancer care.
