Look Good Feel Better, A Program that Teaches Beauty Techniques to Cancer Patients

Look Good Feel Better is a non-medical, brand-neutral public service program that teaches beauty techniques to cancer patients to help them manage the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment.

Look Good Feel Better’s FREE group programs are open to all women with cancer who are undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, or other forms of treatment. Our beloved 32-year-old program has served over one million people in the US with our in-person workshops and more than 2 million globally. We have served millions more with other valuable online resources and video tutorials as well.

We launched our Look Good Feel Better Live! Virtual Workshops in 2018.

Look Good Feel Better Live! Virtual Workshops provide valuable information and connection for women undergoing cancer treatment. This online experience offers live instruction and tips during one-hour, online workshops.

Top Look Good Feel Better beauty professional volunteers guide a group of participants in skin care and makeup application, the use of wigs and other head coverings, or body image and styling to help manage appearance concerns.

You can sign up to participate in four different workshop topics. These are currently offered in English, two in Spanish:

Skin Care and Makeup:
• Learn the Look Good Feel Better 12 Signature Steps for skin care and makeup to manage skin tone changes, eyebrow and eyelash loss, and more.
• This workshop is offered in Spanish. Look for “Maquillaje y Cuidado de la Piel EN ESPAÑOL” in the listings below to indicate a Spanish language class.

Wigs and Head Coverings:
• Learn about selecting, styling, and caring for a wig, and other head covering options such as scarves, turbans, hats, and accessories.
• Participants will receive a list of suggested supplies to have on hand.

NEW: Scarf Tying Techniques:
• These workshops explore how to use different scarves and scarf tying techniques (with and without turbans) and even a t-shirt head wrap to camouflage hair loss, enhance appearance, and boost confidence during cancer treatment.

NEW: Body Image, Wardrobe, and Styling:
• This NEW workshop offers wardrobe and styling tips to help manage concerns such as skin discoloration, weight gain or loss, infusion ports, mastectomy and reconstruction, and other physical changes resulting from treatment.
• NEW: This workshop is now offered in Spanish. Look for “Imagen Corporal, Vestuario, y Estilismo EN ESPAÑOL” in the listing to indicate a Spanish language class.

Participants can ask questions of the instructor, interact with other participants, and enjoy the same community, camaraderie and support that in-person workshops offer, from the safety and comfort of home.

The virtual workshops are a a vital connection to community, hope and confidence among patients who may be feeling so powerless and isolated. The feedback from these workshops has been amazing!

The program also has teen workshops and online support resources for men.
