Farhana Sonday, Director, Pelvic Health, Musculoskeletal, and Oncology Physiotherapist at PhysioReform Ltd

Fara is a specialist pelvic health, oncology and musculoskeletal physiotherapist. She graduated in 2005 from the University of Cape Town and started her career in South Africa, before relocating to London in 2008. She has worked in various NHS and private clinics in London before starting PhysioReform in 2018.

She has a special interest in women’s health, pre and postnatal care, mens’ health, and oncology care. She has undertaken additional qualifications in these fields, as well as in acupuncture and pilates.

Following surgery and treatment for cancer, you may encounter a few complications which can be alleviated with specialist physiotherapy. Fara can help you with conditions such as cording, scar tissue, myofascial tightening, general deconditioning, particularly after chemotherapy, as well as rehabilitation following reconstructive surgery.

PhysioReform is a private physiotherapy, pelvic health. and sports injury clinic. Our main focus is to restore pain-free movement and function in the body following injury, dysfunction or surgery. We aim to empower clients to improve their quality of life.

What happens during a session?
During your initial consultation, we will spend time listening to your story, finding out about your condition and relevant medical history, as well as information about your lifestyle. We will then take you through some movement-based tests and a range of assessment techniques. After the assessment, we use a range of treatment modalities such as bespoke exercise and rehabilitation programmes, joint and soft tissue mobilisation, acupuncture, massage and/or taping. We also advise and educate you on injury prevention in the future.

PhysioReform has strong links with GP’s and specialist consultants in the area. If you need further investigations like a scan or X-ray, we can help you arrange this. If we feel that physiotherapy is not for you, we will be able to advise on the best path for you.

Fara is registered with the HCPC, CSP, POGP and The Pelvic Floor Society. She is based in London and offers zoom sessions.

In response to the Covid-19 crisis, Fara is offering a free 30-minute virtual initial consultation to any cancer patients coming through Nancy’s List, until further notice.
