I am a certified life coach and testicular cancer survivor. My coaching practice focuses on supporting individuals to be authentic and brave in their lives.
Over the course of my career and my life, the moments that have lit me up the most were the ones where I supported persons to embrace their gifts, talents, and their unique voice. When people were able to do that, they became better leaders in their personal and professional lives as well. I came to realize that helping people make these connections was my passion and my unique contribution. That is what led me to become a coach.
I love working in partnership with people who want more for themselves: more joy, more peace, more love, more satisfaction, more success, and more self-belief. I love supporting people to creatively work through the obstacles that get in their way and start building fulfilling lives. I once told myself that that wasn’t a real job and now it is what I do.
A few years ago, I survived cancer. I was already a coach at the time but that experience awakened a deep appreciation for enjoying life and a fighting spirit within me. Surviving cancer made me keenly aware that you can plan all you want for tomorrow but, if you aren’t actually living today, what does it matter? If you aren’t pursuing your passions today, what are you waiting for? Now I utilize this awareness and these strengths to be a fierce ally in service to your growth and success. As your coach, I will support you and also push you to live more fully and to pursue the things that light you up the most right now.
While I was in treatment, I found lots of support and then noticed that the sources of support began to evaporate as I stepped into survivorship. I was grateful to be alive and yet the ripples of my cancer journey were still creating waves at times in my life. Most of the people in my life didn’t understand why I was still talking about my cancer experience as if I were still in it. Everyone seemed to move on and they felt that I should too.
As a coach, I provide space for cancer survivors to explore what is next in their lives while acknowledging the ways in which their cancer journey is ongoing … long into survivorship. Each of our cancer journeys is so unique and, inevitably, we learn a lot about ourselves in the process. Some people find themselves wanting to get back to their lives as they were before the diagnoses and some people find themselves discovering that they want to create something new with their new understanding of themselves. I love helping people explore this and supporting them to bravely create something new.
I have also come to realize that being a cancer survivor encompasses a lot of different experiences. Some cancer survivors still have active cancer or have survived and now have a new diagnosis or recurrence. Some are in complete remission. Some have incurable cancers that they will manage for the rest of their lives. In my eyes, if you see yourself as a survivor … then you are a survivor. If you identify as a survivor and want to explore what is next for you, I would love to be a partner with you in that process.
I am a Certified Professional Coach (CPC). I received my training from the Leadership That Works Coaching for Transformation program which is an International Coaching Federation (ICF) accredited program. I am credentialed as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) by the ICF. I also hold a Masters of Public Health (MPH) in Community Health Education from Hunter College.
In addition to my individual coaching, I run a discussion group for cancer survivors. Please check my website for updates. If you are interested in joining the discussion group or working with me on a 1:1 basis, please feel free to reach out. We can have a chat and see if we are a good fit for each other.
I look forward to meeting you, being in community with you, and supporting you to build the life you want. I am passionate about social justice and fighting to make this world better for everyone. I believe that starts with each one of us working on our own healing, development, and growth. I look forward to learning about what you love and supporting you to have more of all of it.
