CancerHackerLab, Supportive Care and Education

CancerHacker Lab Logo

CancerHackerLab is dedicated to helping advanced cancer patients navigate their testing and treatment decisions.

We are a virtual global collaborative community helping patients and caregivers resolve complex cancer problems.

We host Cancer Hackathons – which are curated online communities of brilliant patients, researchers, and bio-informaticians who have come together to solve each patient’s unique problem.

Why Hackathons?
Cancer patients experience many breakdowns in our health system.

The incumbents in the health industrial complex change incrementally and slowly.
The disruptive innovation that patients need will depend on activist patients and startups.

Some frontline treatments are not curative and patients run out of options. They are beyond the standard of care and clinical trials, and have ‘hit a wall’. Everyone is unique, which means that for many people the “standard of care” process doesn’t work. They need to search for their own unique solutions, which can feel lonely and overwhelming.

We invite a global, cross-discipline and cross-institutional crowd of patients, researchers, providers, pathologists, and bioinformaticians to “hackathons”, where the complex cases of individual patients are analyzed, and their best next treatment is determined.

I am Brad Power.
How Can I Help People with a Cancer Diagnosis Navigate to the Best Options for Their Cancer Treatment?

In July of 2018, I was diagnosed with lymphoma and have gone through a course of chemotherapy. Building on that experience and my 35+ years of consulting and research on process innovation and business transformation, I am focusing my professional activities on helping people with a cancer diagnosis navigate to the best options for their treatment.
