Rhoda Nguyễn, Naturopathic Physician

Dr. Rhodo Nguyen is a licensed Naturopathic Physician and graduate of Bastyr University, the leading accredited university of natural and science-based medicine. A native of Seattle, she received her undergraduate degree in Zoology from the University of Washington. She has been practicing Naturopathic Medicine in Washington, DC since 2004.

Dr. Nguyen’s philosophy on health and illness comes from the first principle of naturopathic medicine, Vis Medicatrix Naturae – the healing power of nature. In essence, the body has an innate ability to establish, maintain, and restore health. She believes that a person’s susceptibility towards illness stems from a combination of genetic predisposition, environmental toxicant exposure, allergens, and dietary and lifestyle influences. Dr. Nguyen uses both conventional testing and functional laboratory testing to investigate the underlying cause of a person’s illness. Her “toolbox” for treatment includes botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, homeopathy, craniosacral therapy, and diet and lifestyle counseling.  Dr. Nguyen sees both children and adults and offers a holistic, personalized plan to guide her patients toward optimal wellness in all aspects of health: physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual states of being. Through Dr. Nguyen’s gentle approach and education, patients are empowered and motivated to take control of their health and well-being.  Dr. Nguyen is also a certified FirstLine Therapy practitioner.

Outside of the office, Dr. Nguyen enjoys meditation, running, painting, cooking, good friends and community service. She is currently Board President of SENHOA, a non-profit organization working to empower women and children that are at-risk for human-trafficking and sexual exploitation in Cambodia. She is past-president of the District of Columbia Association of Naturopathic Physicians and a current member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.

It’s such a rarity that you find a doctor in any realm who really takes the time to educate and enlighten patients; empowering them to not only live a healthier life in the short term but really giving them the power to use information that can span a lifetime.

Dr. Nguyen has been my Naturopathic Doctor for more than two years and in those two years I have learned not only about the key factors that most of us want to know, how to lose weight and keep it off, but I’ve learned about being a better doctor myself and how to empower my own patients to live a healthier, cleaner life and how to enjoy it at the same time. Having a practice filled with toxic, overstressed patients has always challenged me but having Dr. Nguyen on my side it’s been much easier. My office has referred no less than 100 people to Rhodo in the last 2+ years because I see in her the type of doctor I strive to be every day, a clinically sound professional who has the ability to change the lives of everyone who walks through her doors, regardless of malady or condition.

You’d be doing yourself and your family a huge service if you at least spent one session with Rhodo. The odds are very good that you’ll stay with her recommendations for years to come and live a longer, more fulfilling life with far less health-related issues.

Call me if you have any other questions or concerns.

Yours in health,

Dr. David M. Kaminsky M.S., D.C., F.I.C.P.A.”
