Emilee Garfield, Movement Educator, Cancer Recovery Expert, Certified Pilates Teacher, The Art of Quantum Living Facilitator

As a cancer recovery specialist, I help women all over the world reclaim their strength, hope, and their bodies, through safe proven exercises so they can live a better quality of life.9781982226152_fqa.indd

After my Stage 3C Ovarian cancer surgery, I was frustrated to find limited resources about how to exercise safely with an ostomy. Because I have taught Pilates and yoga and have been working as a movement educator for the past 25 years, I understand and respect the human body. I was aware that movement was essential for my rehabilitation and improving my quality of life. I knew movement would be my medicine – and today I am here to teach you my exact roadmap to recovery.

HEAL & THRIVE
My intention is to help you connect to a better quality of life while you are going through the cancer journey. This program addresses both the physical body and the emotional body.

Once I heard those words, “You have cancer,” I felt outside of my body. I can still recall the panic deep in my chest and hardly being able to breathe through the fear.

I remember feeling so alone.

No one should have to go through cancer alone.

So … I created my own recovery program that to teach you so that you can get your life back! My mission is to serve the cancer population with my professional expertise as a life coach and movement educator, especially those affected by pelvic and abdominal cancers.

You will learn self-care tips to speed up the recovery process. I teach safe exercises endorsed by oncologists and medical doctors, with in-depth cancer recovery exercises from my signature program Cancer Core Recovery(R) Program.

Exercise and stretching may offer you these benefits …

  • More energy
  • Less pain
  • Less anxiety and depression
  • More flexibility
  • Better CORE function and strength
  • Better balance and posture
  • Increase upper and lower body strength
  • Less back pain
  • More self-confidence
  • Improved self-worth
  • Decrease lower limb lymphedema post-surgery
  • Less scar tissue pain
  • Safe exercises for an Ileostomy surgery and post-reversal

Note: Heal & Thrive is specifically designed for women recovering from Abdominal and Pelvic cancers, but all are welcome.

As a fellow health & fitness professional
diagnosed with stage IIIC ovarian cancer,
I searched for anyone
who had overcome this nightmarish disease
and found Emilee!
When I experienced my first recurrence 2 years later,
I knew that I needed assistance
to pull myself
out of the overwhelming despair and hopelessness
I was feeling,
so I began one-on-one personal coaching with her.

Together, we have uncovered some of the deep, dark stories
that contributed to my mindset
and are rewriting the old stories
of worthlessness, hiding and shame.
Regardless of the physical outcome,
I believe healing is possible for anyone facing cancer
or any other life-threatening disease.

Healing happens and possibilities expand
when we change our stories
to ones of hope, courage, strength, resilience and tenacity.
Emilee understands this journey first-hand
and it has been amazing
to have someone walk alongside me,
lifting, encouraging, and empowering me
to fully LIVE!

THE CANCER CORE RECOVERY PROGRAM
In 2017, I founded The Cancer Core Recovery® Project, a non-profit organization that provides educational workout videos, instructional training manuals, and develops exercise programs for cancer survivors to help rehabilitate their bodies after surgery. I was inspired by women with pelvic and abdominal cancers as well as women who have undergone TRAM Flap reconstruction surgeries.

This program is a holistic and comprehensive approach to cancer recovery that incorporates safe therapeutic physical exercise, a supportive private online community of women, and includes mindset practices, meditation, and journaling prompts. It is truly a unique, full-spectrum approach to cancer recovery!

From the moment you find out you have cancer, you can begin your Prehab Recovery. This program will prepare your body for the physical fight so you can recover faster and with less pain.

COACHING W/EMILEE
My one-on-one coaching packages are designed to suit your specific healing needs best. Don’t wait to get the love & support you need. Your support system starts right here!

Thank you so much Emilee
for taking me under your wing
and guiding me
on how to break old sabotaging cycles.
I am so grateful to be on this journey.
It is hard work that’s for sure,
but after doing this big step,
I know next time and every time after
it will just keep getting easier and easier!
