Hi I’m Lindsay! I am a 6 year triple negative breast cancer survivor, turned patient advocate and cancer navigator to help others feel less alone in their journey.
My story with cancer started before my own diagnosis, with the loss of my father to pancreatic cancer in 2013. Shortly thereafter, I would be the first in my family to learn we carry a BRCA2 mutation. Determined to be proactive, I planned for preventative surgery to control my risk of breast and ovarian cancer. Unfortunately, during my first mammogram at age 33, I was diagnosed with stage 1 triple negative breast cancer, one month after my daughter’s first birthday.
After enduring months of chemotherapy, a bilateral mastectomy, and total hysterectomy, I turned my pain into purpose by becoming a breast health navigator. In that time, I have walked alongside hundreds of people with breast cancer, from diagnosis through survivorship and beyond, using my experience to inspire and empower others to take control of their health.
I am a registered nurse, board-certified integrative nurse coach and hold two breast nurse certifications. I am deeply involved in cancer advocacy efforts, such as the LBBC’s Young Advocate Program. I am an active consumer reviewer for the Breast Cancer Research Panel with the DoD and I am President and co-founder of CREW309, a rowing team for breast cancer survivors.
I opened my private coaching practice, SurvivorRN, to fulfill the goal of providing education and support to previvors, survivors, and thrivers all over the country. I firmly believe that everyone deserves support through a cancer diagnosis (and beyond!).
I offer high levels of personalized support through 1:1 packages, as well as group support and low cost membership options. I am happy to welcome virtual clients and my services qualify as a medical expense for FSA/HSA reimbursement.
I know what it is like to receive a cancer diagnosis. You do not need to go through this alone. I am here to help.
A testimonial from one of my 1:1 clients:
I was blindsided
when I received my Stage 3 Breast Cancer Diagnosis
when my children were just 2 and 5 years old.
No one in my family ever had Cancer.
I became deeply depressed.
I connected with Lindsay
since she is a Breast Cancer Thriver
who went through treatment when her children were young.
Lindsay’s years of experience as an Oncology RN
as well as being a Breast Cancer Survivor herself
were invaluable to me.
She took the time to answer clinical questions I had,
as well as personal questions.
Lindsay truly cares about her clients.
She provided me with the help I so desperately needed.
She also identified that I had PTSD
and was able to connect me to a PTSD Therapist.
Lindsay was/is a crucial part of my Care Team.
Lindsay has been a part of my whole cancer journey –
diagnosis, treatment, and now survivorship.
They say no one fights cancer alone,
and Lindsay really made me feel
like she was fighting with me.
I would give Lindsay a 100% recommendation.
