My personal philosophy and aim is to lead a life of balance. The old Greeks and Hippocrates, the Father of Modern Medicine, said it …
Nothing in excess, take the middle path,
and everything in its right measure.
I believe that the purpose of any healer, any doctor, is to teach that simply put, “We heal ourselves” by the way we live our everyday lives. Even though the tools from a doctor’s tool box can be very significant during our healing journey, a holistic lifestyle really is the foundation if we are to feel and stay well. We are each responsible for our own health. We have the cure within us!
As a 4-event National Team Gymnast, I was considering a career in Sports Physiology. However, my journey as a healthcare provider began as a Dentist, DDS in Denmark. The focus of my practice was general dentistry and surgical wisdom teeth removal.
After re-locating from Denmark to Greece with my family in 1990, I began studying and practicing Yoga, Tai Chi and Qi Gong, gradually letting go of dentistry as I was adding in more holistic healing modalities such as Reiki and CranioSacral Therapy.
For several years, I was seeing clients, utilizing mainly diet and lifestyle, CranioSacral Therapy, and Reiki. I taught Yoga classes and workshops, as well as coordinated and/or conducted annual Holistic Healing Retreats, until I decided to study Naturopathic Medicine. We left Europe in 2002 and moved to Arizona. I enrolled at the highly respected Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, from where I graduated with my second medical doctorate in the summer of 2007.
I have been practicing Naturopathic Medicine since the spring of 2008. For several years, my focus was on cancer care drawing from personal experience. Another passion of mine is natural pain care and pain management, due to extensive personal experience with severe injuries from accidents.
One of my favorite things is to help people safely and responsibly get off their medication and on to a healthier and more balanced way of life.
In the summer of 2012, I was hired by Sedona Wellness Retreat in Arizona, where Gerson Cancer Therapy was our focus, and Naturopathic Medicine our foundation.
In August of 2014, I was invited to teach at the Naturopathic Medical College in Puerto Rico. I spent 2 years in Puerto Rico, where I was an Adjunct Professor at the Naturopathic Medicine Doctoral Program at La Universidad del Turabo in Caguas/Gurabo.
In December 2018, I joined the Integrative Cancer Center An Oasis of Healing in Mesa, Arizona, where my personal emphasis was on research-based Mind-Body Medicine, as well as Naturopathic Medicine, CranioSacral Therapy, and Homeopathy. An Oasis of Healing is unique in the world of Natural Cancer Care, attracting people with cancer from all over the world.
In June of 2021, I returned to Puerto Rico, again joining the Naturopathic Medicine Doctorate degree program at UAGM as a Professor and Clinical Supervisor overseeing and guiding our students caring for patients in our Naturopathic Medicine clinic.
After a year in beautiful Puerto Rico, I returned to United States and joined Advanced Functional Medicine in San Diego.
