I am a Certified Lymphedema Therapist, Intuitive Reiki Master, and Massage Therapist.
My formal education began at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego CA, where I earned my certification in Holistic Health Science. Developing my signature style, I integrated Eastern and Western techniques in Reflexology, Therapeutic Massage and Reiki. In 2016, I continued my education with Klose training, earning my certification in Manual Lymphatic Drainage and later became a Certified Lymphedema and decongestive Therapist, which has become my passion.
As a mother of a son living with Lymphedema, I understand the physical, emotional, and mental challenges that this condition may bring … not to mention the misinformation and the cost that one might encounter as a patient.
At the Bodhi Tree, the aim is to provide medical massages tailored to specific needs of the individual and their unique concerns.
As a true believer in the body’s ability to heal itself, I can attest to the fact that when advanced massage modalities are applied, the healing process can be accelerated. As a certified Lymphatic therapist working in a holistic setting, rather than a clinical or hospital setting, I offer the unique opportunity to dedicate the necessary time and attention to each client and her or his specific concerns.
Clientele includes post-surgical patients (BBL, liposuction, C-section, and breast health), people with edema, Lymphedema, and clients seeking to strengthen immune health.
SERVICES
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
A gentle massage used to encourage the drainage of lymphatic fluid found between the tissues of the body. MLD eliminates toxic waste products from the body and returns vitamin rich protein back into the circulatory system. This massage is effective for lymphedema, Lipedema, Venous edema, Rheumatoid arthritis, inflammation and post-surgical edema.
Oncology Massage
A massage adapted to support those living with the effects of cancer treatments. Oncology massage improves quality of life by reducing anxiety, fatigue, and post-surgical swelling, while supporting recovery.
Infrared Therapy
Increases blood and lymph flow, which stimulates growth of normal tissue instead of scar tissue to accelerate post-surgical repair. Infrared light therapy reduces inflammation and improves skin quality by increasing production of collagen and elastin.
Theresa Gamlin is a board-certified massage therapist who specializes in the Vodder method of manual lymphatic drainage and oncology massage for the enhancement of the immune system. For almost a year, I was having swelling and pain in my body. It was to the point that every movement was met with discomfort. After three sessions at Bodhi Tree, I have had great improvement. The infrared treatment really made a difference in the level of stiffness in my hands and legs. I didn’t realize how much discomfort I was in until I found myself sleeping during the massage.
