I provide therapy and support to individuals who have been diagnosed with cancer. My approach is empathetic and compassionate. I address the anxieties and complex emotions that cancer presents and their loved ones cope with as they try to find peace along their journey.
I worked with oncology patients and their families during my postdoctoral residency at Kaiser Medical Center. I have experience working with oncologists, nurse practitioners, and social workers as we apply a holistic approach to cancer care. Specifically, I have consulted with the oncology teams regarding diagnoses and formulating plans to best address the emotional needs of the patient.
Apart from my professional experiences, I also have experience caring for a family member diagnosed with lung cancer.
In my private psycho-oncology practice, I find that patients benefit from having a dedicated person and space to express themselves. Relying only on family members can feel uncomfortable at times.
I also work with individuals who have completed cancer treatment and are readjusting to “normal” life, which can involve addressing ongoing fears of recurrence. I utilize therapeutic approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and a variety of other empirically-based interventions.
For now, I offer sessions by video and phone.
I use a HIPAA-compliant platform to ensure privacy and confidentiality.
Under my California licensure, I can work with individuals residing in the state of California.
