I have been a movement practitioner and bodyworker for over 25 years.
I offer Somatic Therapy sessions in person an on zoom that help the nervous system to regain resilience and adaptability using the Fajardo Method of Holistic Biomechanics.
Whether you are a patient or caregiver, the body will benefit from a tool that allows the nervous system to have flexibility, and come out of chronic Fight or Flight states. Using a simple sensing practice, the nervous system begins to map your body location which allows all bodily systems (muscular, skeletal, immune, digestive, endocrine, respiratory, lymphatic, etc.) to coordinate and function with more efficiency. The practice can be done restoratively or dynamically depending on your individual needs.
I began my movement career as an actor/singer/dancer, Personal Fitness Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor and Reiki Master. Later, I became a Registered Yoga Teacher, Body-Mind Centering Practitioner, Certified CranioSacral Practitioner, Manual Therapist, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, and Continuum Teacher.
I have studied with many movement teachers including Irene Dowd, Hubert Goddard and Tom Myers. I now offer FMHB sessions in person or over zoom.
When I found this method, I was unable to function after a whiplash/concussion event (this is in the “My Story” section of my website).
It doesn’t matter whether the person is challenged because of auto-immune, an acute injury, cancer, a surgery, or is in treatment. We have the resilience to recover if we are not in the stress response. To get to a place where we have a cancer diagnosis or post-concussion syndrome as in my case, we are in the stress response. FMHB gives one the tools to come out of the stress response and regain adaptability in the nervous system. If we have a body map (doing the FMHB sensing practice), our unconscious brain is mapping us in relationship to the environment (this is our design). Our nervous system very quickly ascertains that there is no physical threat present and reverses all the Fight or Flight reflexes (structurally and physiologically).
