Counseling
Our staff of licensed oncology social workers provide free individual and support group counseling to anyone affected by cancer residing in New York or New Jersey.
Counseling is available in English and Spanish and centers on the emotional and practical challenges that arise from cancer.
Oncology social workers provide short-term, strengths-based emotional support and may also assist in locating practical assistance, including community resources.
Counseling is offered in person, by video-conferencing online, or on the telephone.

Resource Navigation
CancerCare provides free telephone resource navigation to people living with cancer, post-treatment survivors and caregivers affected by cancer.
CancerCare’s Resource Navigation services are provided by professional resource navigators and oncology social workers.
This service is available in English and Spanish and centers on the practical challenges that arise from cancer.

Online support groups take place using a password-protected message board format (not live chat) and are led by professional oncology social workers who offer support and guidance.
Groups are held for 15 weeks at a time, and group members must register to join.
After completing the registration process (which can take up to 2-3 business days), members can participate by posting in the groups 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Open to anyone in the United States, Puerto Rico and U.S. Territories.

Spots Available for Healing Hearts Family Bereavement Camp
Our free Healing Hearts Family Bereavement Camp will take place from Friday, May 30 – Sunday, June 1, 2025.
This camp allows families who have experienced the loss of a loved one to cancer to come together for a weekend retreat in the Poconos. This camp is for families: parents or guardians with children and teens ages 4-17, who have lost a loved one to cancer within the past two years.
Space is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage you to call to register with us today. Register by March 28, 2025.

We offer limited financial assistance for cancer-related costs and co-pays, and our professional oncology social workers can help you find additional resources.
