He is an accomplished fingerstyle guitarist and is committed to making music that inspires well-being. He is influenced by guitarists Michael Hedges and Will Ackerman, and has worked extensively with Tom Eaton to shape and develop his sound.

As a board-certified music therapist, Ryan has had the honor of working with children with life-threatening illnesses. This has inspired him to donate a percentage of his profits to a non-profit organization called Lucy’s Love Bus that provides free music therapy services to pediatric cancer patients.
One of Ryan’s first experiences of the transformative power of music came when he was a young music therapy student going to see his grandmother for the last time. As he walked down the hall with his mom and brother by his side, everything felt cold, melancholy and sterile. The smell of disinfectant was in the air. Ryan entered his grandmother’s dark room and took out his guitar. The music he played broke through the isolation, sadness and fear. After the last notes faded, and tears welled in her eyes, she whispered, “That was good for my heart.”

Ryan has a master’s degree in music therapy and transpersonal counseling psychology from Naropa University, one of the top contemplative education schools in the country. Ryan’s unique background as a music therapist and accomplished fingerstyle guitarist allows him to bring music, mindfulness and well-being into harmony with each other.
